Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to courses, qualifications, training and related services provided by
Beautybase Training Academy (“Beautybase”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By booking a course, paying a deposit or course fee, accepting a funded place, or commencing training
with Beautybase, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Course Bookings
A place is not guaranteed until Beautybase has confirmed the booking or enrolment.
Some courses have specific entry requirements, prerequisites or prior qualification requirements.
Learners must provide accurate information about their qualifications, experience and eligibility when
requested.
For regulated qualifications, registration, assessment and certification are subject to the requirements of
the relevant awarding organisation.
Beautybase reserves the right to refuse or cancel an enrolment where required entry criteria are not
met. Any refund due will be handled in accordance with these Terms and applicable consumer law.
2. Course Fees and Payment
Course fees and any compulsory additional charges will be made clear before booking.
Payment may be made in full, through an agreed payment plan, or through an approved funding
arrangement where available and subject to eligibility.
Where a payment plan is agreed, payments must be made on the agreed dates.
Failure to maintain an agreed payment plan may result in training or other course services being
suspended until the account is brought up to date, where it is reasonable and lawful to do so.
3. Deposits
Where a deposit is required, the amount will be stated before booking and will normally be credited
towards the total course fee.
Where a learner cancels outside any applicable statutory cancellation period, Beautybase may retain an
amount that reasonably reflects services already provided and losses or costs resulting from the
cancellation.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
4. Online and Distance Bookings – Cancellation Rights
Where a consumer books online, by telephone or through another distance-selling method, they will
generally have a 14-day statutory cancellation period where the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
apply.
To exercise a statutory cancellation right, the learner should clearly inform Beautybase of their decision
to cancel, preferably in writing or by email.
Beautybase Training Academy | 1Where a learner expressly requests that training or services begin during the 14-day cancellation period,
Beautybase may be entitled to charge a proportionate amount for services supplied before cancellation.
Where a statutory refund is due, it will be processed within the legally required period.
Nothing in these Terms restricts statutory cancellation or refund rights.
5. Cancellations and Withdrawals
Learners wishing to cancel or withdraw should notify Beautybase as soon as possible.
Once any statutory cancellation period has expired, any refund or amount payable following withdrawal
will be determined reasonably, taking account of training already supplied, materials or services
provided, costs incurred, commitments made on the learner's behalf and Beautybase's ability to fill the
place.
Where appropriate, Beautybase may offer transfer to another available course date.
Failure to attend does not automatically constitute cancellation and does not automatically create an
entitlement to a refund.
6. Short Courses
Short courses include one-day and other intensive practical courses.
Places are limited and tutors, rooms, equipment and materials may be arranged specifically for the
number of learners booked.
If a learner cannot attend, they should contact Beautybase as early as possible.
Where reasonable and subject to availability, Beautybase may offer a transfer to another course date.
Repeated transfers may be refused.
Statutory consumer cancellation rights continue to apply where applicable.
7. Rescheduling or Cancellation by Beautybase
Beautybase will make reasonable efforts to deliver training on the advertised dates.
Occasionally, a course or training session may need to be changed because of tutor illness, insufficient
enrolment, equipment or venue problems, awarding-organisation requirements or circumstances
outside Beautybase's reasonable control.
Where possible, an alternative date or suitable arrangement will be offered.
If Beautybase cancels a course completely and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, an appropriate
refund will be provided for training paid for but not supplied.
Beautybase will not normally be responsible for consequential costs such as travel or accommodation,
except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Attendance
Learners are expected to attend all required practical and theory sessions.
Regulated qualifications may include minimum attendance, practical observations, examinations,
assignments, portfolios, case studies or other completion requirements.
Missing a class does not automatically entitle a learner to a refund.
Beautybase Training Academy | 2Where possible, Beautybase may offer catch-up training. If an additional individual training or
assessment session has to be arranged, an additional reasonable charge may apply. The learner will be
informed of the charge before agreeing to the session.
Persistent absence may prevent completion of a qualification.
9. Assessments and Completion
Booking or attending a course does not guarantee achievement of a qualification.
Learners must successfully complete the assessments and requirements applicable to their course. These
may include practical observations, written work, examinations, portfolios, case studies and home study.
Learners are responsible for completing and submitting required work within the timescales provided.
Reassessment opportunities will be provided where required by the qualification or awarding
organisation. Any permitted additional charge will be explained in advance.
10. Certificates
Certificates for regulated qualifications can only be issued following successful completion of all required
elements and confirmation by the relevant awarding organisation.
Beautybase cannot guarantee a specific certificate issue date where certification is controlled by an
external awarding organisation.
11. Funded Places
Funding is available only for eligible courses and is subject to eligibility, approval, availability and
applicable funding rules.
Advertising a course as having funding available does not guarantee that an individual learner will qualify
for funding.
Learners must provide complete and accurate information and any evidence required to establish
eligibility.
Where funding or an Advanced Learner Loan is administered through an approved partner training
provider, learners may also be required to accept that organisation's enrolment, funding and learner
terms.
Learners must inform Beautybase and/or the relevant provider of changes that could affect their
eligibility or enrolment.
Where an Advanced Learner Loan applies, the learner remains subject to the applicable government and
Student Loans Company rules.
12. Private/Self-Funded Learners
Privately paying learners are responsible for paying their course fees in accordance with the payment
arrangement agreed at enrolment.
A payment plan allows the cost of a course to be spread over an agreed period. It does not necessarily
mean that each payment purchases an independent part of the course.
Where a learner withdraws, any outstanding liability will be determined in accordance with these Terms,
services already supplied and applicable consumer law.

Beauty and aesthetic training may involve learners practising treatments on other learners, models or
clients under appropriate supervision.
Learners must comply with Beautybase's health and safety, hygiene, infection-control and professional
standards.
Relevant contraindications or other information requested for treatment safety must be disclosed before
participating in practical treatment.
Beautybase may prevent or discontinue a treatment where it considers that proceeding would be unsafe
or inappropriate.
Where models or case studies are required, learners will be informed of the relevant course
requirements.
14. Learner Conduct
Beautybase is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful and safe learning environment.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intimidating, seriously disruptive or unsafe behaviour towards staff,
tutors, clients, models or other learners will not be accepted.
Serious or repeated misconduct may result in a learner being asked to leave a session and, where
reasonable and proportionate, may result in termination of enrolment.
15. Social Media and Online Conduct
Learners are expected to behave responsibly when referring to Beautybase Training Academy, its staff,
tutors, clients and other learners online or through social media.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a learner from leaving an honest review, expressing a genuinely held
opinion, raising a legitimate complaint or exercising any legal right.
Learners must not, however, use social media, review platforms, messaging services or other online
platforms to:
• harass, threaten, intimidate or abuse Beautybase staff, tutors, clients or other learners;
• knowingly publish false statements about Beautybase, its staff or its services;
• disclose another person's private or confidential information without appropriate authority;
• publish photographs, video, audio or other recordings in circumstances that unlawfully interfere with
another person's privacy or rights;
• impersonate Beautybase, a member of staff or another learner; or
• falsely represent themselves as speaking on behalf of Beautybase.
Where a learner has concerns about their training, assessment or experience, Beautybase encourages
them to use the complaints procedure so that the matter can be properly investigated.
Online conduct that also amounts to serious learner misconduct may be dealt with under Beautybase's
learner conduct or disciplinary procedures. Any action taken will be reasonable and proportionate to the
circumstances.
16. Photography and Recording
Learners must not photograph, video or audio-record clients, models, other learners or members of staff
without appropriate permission.
Beautybase Training Academy | 4Where Beautybase wishes to use photographs or recordings for marketing or promotional purposes,
appropriate consent will be obtained where required.
17. Changes to Courses
Beautybase may make reasonable changes to timetables, tutors, teaching arrangements, equipment or
course content where necessary.
Regulated qualifications remain subject to the requirements of the relevant awarding organisation.
Where a material change significantly affects a learner, Beautybase will seek to provide an appropriate
alternative or remedy.
18. Qualifications, Insurance and Employment
Beautybase will describe the qualification or certification offered by each course as accurately as
reasonably possible.
Completion of a course does not guarantee employment, self-employment, insurance, local-authority
licensing or permission to provide a particular treatment.
Learners are responsible for checking the insurance, licensing, registration and other requirements
applicable to the services they intend to provide professionally.
19. Course Materials and Intellectual Property
Course manuals, presentations, worksheets, photographs, videos and other Beautybase training
resources are provided for the learner's personal educational use unless otherwise stated.
Where Beautybase owns or licenses the relevant intellectual property, materials must not be copied,
reproduced, sold, distributed, uploaded online or used to deliver training to others without permission.
20. Complaints
Beautybase wants learners to raise concerns promptly so that they can be investigated fairly.
Learners should contact Beautybase in the first instance with details of their concern.
Where applicable, learners may also have rights under the complaints or appeals procedures of the
relevant awarding organisation, funding provider or partner training provider.
21. Liability and Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Nothing in these Terms affects a learner's statutory consumer rights.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this will not automatically affect
the remaining provisions.
22. Personal Information
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Beautybase Training Academy Privacy
Policy and applicable data-protection legislation.
Where necessary for course administration, qualification registration, certification or funding, relevant
information may be shared with awarding organisations, approved training/funding partners or other
organisations involved in delivering or administering the learner's qualification.

24. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in these Terms affects any rights consumers have regarding where legal proceedings may be
brought under applicable law.
